Before the President and Hilary Clinton get on the news to blame this recent tragedy in CA on gun owners, the NRA, or white privilege, I just want to point out a few things that most people probably do not know.

-CA is a gun-free zone. Sure, after spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on fees for your lawyer and municipality you MIGHT be able to buy a gun legally, but you will never be able to carry that gun legally. The people harmed by the criminals in this instance had no legal ability to defend themselves.

-The NRA is against increased regulation on the firearms industry because it already one of the most heavily regulated industries in our society, despite being specifically protected by the The Constitution of The United States of America. The NRA also spends heavily on providing safety and educational classes to thousands of Americans every year, often times subsidizing the cost of the training.

Gun owners: the recent attack in Paris and now this one in CA means that the game is changing. No longer should you only prepare for the odd mugger or home defense, but rather you should prepare for an active shooter or shooter team in addition to other threats. To defeat this type of coordination will require more advanced training, and training more often. If you are not training several hours a month, start now! If you are not training magazine changes, burst shooting, and for multiple criminals, then start now! Talk to your family about what the plan will be if you are faced with such evil. Don't just think about going to a certified training school, go there and get the training! There are several quality schools out there and I can provide you with some direction if you would like. Most importantly, be safe with your firearm and be trained.
