Authors you discovered afterwards were bastards?

When I was a kid, from the age of 8 until 10, I would stay with my grandparents after school until my parents were back from work. After lunch, I would routinely go through grandpa's library and pick a random book and read. Some of the books were grade A reading, like a second edition W.P. Blatty's The Exorcist. Others were problematic to say the least; there was plenty of theosophy, and "Chariots of the Gods", and a lot of "greek exceptionalism" from the greek orthodox church, various members of EPEN ("National Political Union"), Hegel (fucking Hegel?!? yes), Charles Maurras, and others.

It is an absolute fucking miracle I emerged an antifascist from that house.
