Honestly, the thing that upsets me the most are the people here just working incredibly hard to discredit Hiyyih’s work on an OT9 sub. “She’s not good enough for HYBE” “She needs to work harder for HYBE to want her” etc. But let’s not forget that Hiyyih was already passing auditions for BELIFT LAB and chose GP999 - so it’s already proven that at least one company under HYBE Labels was interested in her talent. Let’s also not forget she passed the auditions to GP999, which was not an easy process either.
I’m also pretty tired of seeing people openly say “being Kai’s sister helped her in GP999 like let’s be honest”… okay so let’s be honest with it then? Along with the C-Group she got the worst editing. They mentioned Kai ONCE. Kai did not win her place for her - just like Lea did not guarantee Kai’s debut - Nabil Huening did not guarantee his kids’ debuts. There were contestants on there that were literal idols with fanbases of their own on that show but it was completely fine for them but Hiyyih can’t have an idol brother? He’s not even the most popular member of TXT! He got so much hate when he debuted just like Hiyyih and people kind of really just started appreciating him as an idol.
I know there are some OT8 lurkers & Hiyyih haters here just based on my own previous comments about her go back and forth with downvotes and upvotes - this is really sad. (There’s also a bias against Dayeon on occasion.) I don’t feel like I should have to point out how many contestants, even the ones who made it to Kep1er, had a lot of support but it was only a problem for Hiyyih.
The fact of the matter is - People don’t want Hiyyih in a HYBE company not because they’re worried about her being hated on more — They don’t want her there because they don’t think she’s good enough and the hide it behind “concern”. No one should live their life being dictated by haters. She should go where she wants. She WILL receive hate no matter where she goes. Let the girl live, my god. If you truly support her - support her and not with backhanded comments.
