Scene Two: Audisio has just dropped the corpses of Mussolini, Petacci and other executed fscists in a square in Milan. A large crowd is quickly gathering around the corpses.* Company: (center of stage, being loud) Audisio: (off to the side, grin beaming on his face as he watches the crowd begin to kick and beat the corpses) Bellini: (walks over to Audisio) Audisio, can I ask why you're doing this? Audisio: (cheerfully moves closer to Bellini, gives him a hug and pats him on the back) Bellini: (lightly pushes Audisio away and steps back) Company: (people begin throwing stones at the corpses, some people are pssing on them) Audisio: (looks slightly confused) I don't understand the question. Why wouldn't we do this? Company: (incomprehensible shouting, smorgasbord of violent actions being performed on corpses) Bellini: (yelling) You need me to explain why not? We shouldn’t do this because it serves no purpose! They are already dead. By doing this we do nothing, but degrade ourselves. Seeing all of these people give into their darkest, most primal, and bstial urges is disgusting. Audisio: (chuckles and still smiling) Disgusting, eh? You know just as well as I what happened here. They (points in direction of corpses) had fifteen of our fellow partisans executed here. (Beginning to sound angry) Those b*stards then put their bodies on display. No respect. No dignity. (calms down) You tell me this is disgusting Bellini, but I find it hard not to see this scene as poetic, as beautiful. Bellini: (looking deflated, leaves) Audisio: (turns back to crowd and smiles) Company: (members begin hoisting corpses onto girders of nearby building, hanging them upside down on meat hooks) Fade to black
