The BBC has pulled “India’s Daughter” from YouTube around the world

Holy hell. No. Just no.

Oh. so, now you cannot hear out the other side?

Everything that is produced is made in part for monetary gains.

Yeah. I would like to hope documentaries on my country's most followed case is not for your country's monetary benefits.

If monetary gains were the sole reason for this banning, India would be setting an unworkable precedent.

No. You are unnecessarily extrapolating this. This rape case in 2012 was so closely followed by indians, we went out and protested and changed our laws.

Maintaining the market place of ideas is at the precipice of the right of free speech.

Free speech has limits. It does have limits in the US too. For eg., no one I believe (and hope) can even say that they would like to be pedophiles. I hope you see my analogy.

The purpose of this documentary is not to speak to rapists. It is to speak to the community in which potential rapists live.

That is so Racist! You mean to say potential rapists do not live in the UK?

"If this is true then every rapist must be interviewed. " This is a classic misrepresentation of the problem. You don't need to interview every rapist to get the message out that there is a rape problem

Maybe one video isn't enough, sure.

You actually answered it yourself. How can you be sure one video is enough? would we also like to hear how rapists who live in the UK (plenty of them convicted) have to say too? I think it would be unbiased if that was done too.

Simply because you don't like the information, or you don't like the backlash against India because of this information, does not mean the information itself does not need to be out there. You have every right to express your opinions about the information. You have no right to silence it.

I agree a ban isn't required, but you are so off from reality. You played into the hands of the liberal media. Indian government has not ordered the ban, it is a court in India that did. There is a huge difference in that. Courts in India are not controlled by the government. At least not since 2014 May 16th. I guarantee on that.

This is a media war being played out, which you have no clue about.

On one side is NDTV (liberal media of india) and on the Other is the rest of the small broadcasting networks. NDTV has huge reach especially with the liberal media of UK and US. It is stinking rich, has been involved in corruption (read Nira Radia tapes), lobbying, etc. in the previous government tenure.

That, explains why BBC is taking interest in India's rapes....now and has had zero interest from 1947 till 2014.
