BCI babies to be adopted from a reptile shelter (Sherbrooke, Qc)

Good evening Reddit,

A couple of weeks ago, a BCI was surrendered at Le Refuge de Buzz (Buzz' Shelter) in Sherbrooke, Qc. Last week, that BCI gave 17 babies! The person who surrendered that boa gave no information whatsoever unfortunately.

Now, the shelter is a small one and it doesn't have lots of resources. It's important we find these tiny BCIs new homes! If you want a BCI, know of anyone who would want one, you can contact the shelter directly or DM me.

The shelter is very serious about respecting local legislations. Each town in Quebec has its own set of regulations regarding pets. Sherbrooke itself prohibits reptiles which get longer than 6.5' when they become adults. The female BCI which just gave birth is longer than that (yes, that means that this boa surrendered in this shelter can't even be adopted by someone living in the same town! The shelter has a special permit).

When considering adopting a boa, we ask you to make sure you're allowed to keep one in your town.

A contribution of $75 is asked when you adopt at this shelter (donation, so tax-deductible - that makes your snake free but you still need to buy the equipment). Moreover, it is asked from people wishing to adopt to be able to provide all the necessary resources for their snake(s). That includes potential vet bills, an enclosure big enough for your BCI once it's adult, etc.

If you're from the Montreal island (or South/North shores) but can't go to Sherbrooke, I'll be happy to be your snake's chauffeur! We really just want to find good homes for these snakes.

Here are some pictures of the babies: http://imgur.com/a/vUpdU They were not sexed - and they will not be as unfortunately no one at the shelter knows how to. Keep in mind that people working at the shelter are volunteers. No one claims to be a professional breeder; they just want to help abandoned reptiles.

If you spot inaccuracies in the information I gave about the snakes at the shelter (based on the pictures), please comment below and I'll edit my post / forward the information to the shelter.

Thanks!
