Being a Hapa in Thailand twenty years ago

Thailand is so ingrained with white worship its really sad to see.

I feel like there should be a documentary piece on not just the sexual exploitation or media representation of it all but one from the local mindset of what's really going on. Why there is so much self-hate and steps that can be done to avoid it and raise awareness. The culture is all about giving and being a better person but ironically they put themselves down all the time as unworthy.

It's also kind of ironic because Thai people like to be so proud of their monarchy, but they're not proud of themselves.

Having been to Thailand before, it's not a place I see myself going back to because like I said before, the whole damn thing is just depressing.

Thai people aren't proud people, they gain their strengths from being seen or connected to anything remotely western and that's the problem. They have so much culture and energy that it's just sad to see it wasted to pursue the narrative of 'white people first, we second'. Truly a mentally colonized country.
