Do you believe in ghosts? Have you had any serious encounters with paranormal entities?

Yes. It's funny but my experience was so weird because it turned out the ghost wasn't whispy or see through or spooky. In fact, we didn't even realize he was a ghost when we saw him. He looked as real to us as anyone.

It happened when my best friend and I were at the Queen Mary Halloween event. Of course it's known for being "really haunted" but we were just there to drink and have bad actors leap out at us. Down in the ship they had the dance party and haunted mazes. The actual deck of the ship was off limits and all the stairs up there were blocked off with security ropes. We didn't really like the music the dj was playing so after going through all the mazes we decided to sneak past the ropes at a stairwell and go up and see the deck.

We were walking around the deck for about 15 minutes and just enjoying it all when suddenly this older guy in a uniform walked into our view down a bit from us where we'd come up the stairs originally. He looked right at us and made eye contact and so we were like "ack caught! Let's go" and started walking toward him. He walked behind one of those smokestack type things and we figured he was checking something while he waited for us to walk up to him so he could escort us down or kick us out, we weren't sure which but he didn't look mad. Less than a minute later we turned the corner where he walked around the smoke stack and couldn't find anyone. We walked all around it looking for him or a door or something. There was nothing and suddenly a security guard came up the stairs and was like "hey, you can't be up here" and we both suddenly realized that all of the people there working were wearing the same bright orange vests and the guy we'd seen had been wearing more like a traditional ship uniform, like a captain or something. It hadn't struck us as odd or anything though because, again, the guy wasn't see-through or in black and white or anything, he looked as normal to us as we looked to each other. He was in a uniform and had the aura of being in charge and we were both scared of being caught.

We both seemed to realize that we'd seen a ghost at the same time and kind of started freaking out. we kept questioning the security guy, telling him we just saw another man up here, and who was he and where did he go? Were there people here in a different kind of uniform? The guy kept saying no, no one is up here but you two and you're not allowed to be. He led us away and that was that.

we've never forgotten the feeling we had of actually seeing a ghost, having him see us, and knowing that it's not at all like it is in the movies.
