NO! (fucking hell)

Let me try and shine some light on this from moderating perspective

1) moderating is a shit show, and he shit grows exponentially the more controversial and political the sub topic is.

2) mods end up seeing reddit in a very different way when compared to normal users. What may be a one time comment for you and a normal person, is almost only what a mod of a popular sub sees - that's the system.

3) Reported comments, comments which could lead to a flame, these are drastically highlighted for a mod (apply rule 1 filter as appropriate)

4) brigading and manipulation - especially with the trump/Hillary/reddit pol drama. These things happen, and mods have to stop it. But since everything is turned up to 11, there's no time for "considered discourse", so bans are the final trigger

5) douchebags - you, normal user, will likely never go to that sub again. Douchebags and raiders will. They will make a new alt and come back. sometimes they will make multiple alts, so that they always have a backup which is growing older in order to pass trivial account age restrictions.

Modding is a shit show.
