Besides CoinStar machines or wrapping up every coin in wrappers for the bank, do I have other options with my 5 pickle jars worth of coins?

Roll them yourself! At least the quarters and dimes.

I did the math on this a couple weeks ago. Let's say it takes you 1 minute to roll up a roll of coins (reasonable?). Let's say that you're keeping the 12% Coinstar fee for yourself instead of using Coinstar. That means you're "earning":

Quarters: $72.00 an hour (12% of $600.00)

Dimes: $36.00 an hour

Nickels: $14.40 an hour

Pennies: $3.60 an hour

I'm not sure what the average change jar content is for each coin, but it would probably equal about $25.00 an hour on average if you rolled it all (assuming you haven't been swiping all the quarters for beer money). And this is something you can do while watching TV or listening to a podcast.

Like I said, at least sort our the quarters and dimes and roll them yourself.
