Better Call Saul: it's not Breaking Bad – but it might be even better.

Well I said 'some of the groups' and it was an example. Of course there is no problem with liking soaps or reality TV either, and it absolutely does not prove intelligence one way or another. But that just proves that intelligent people can like lowbrow entertainment and less intelligent people could enjoy highbrow entertainment too.

Video Games, books, movies, and TV all have their own structural components. Books for example do not have cinematography, but have their own set of conventions and literary techniques. However a book that puts more effort into characterization than plot consistency or setting relevance might be more like your typical 50 shades of gray than your War and Peace. It's the shame shit. We have people who still buy every version of Call and Duty and that's totally ok and fine, but sometimes works only focus on one or two parts (like a comic book that's black and white with simple iconography or one that's full colour/detail) or create a much more vast and wide experience compared to one that's focused.

It's fine to say all this doesn't matter... except it does sometimes. We obviously choose media based on our own personalities and preferences... and this is something you judge people on especially when you consider whether or not someone is going to be your friend or whether or not you might enter an intimate relationship with someone. Just because someone only watches reality TV does not make them 'dumb'. But you're going to find that if you care about intelligence in another person AT ALL, you're probably going to hope that they have something intellectually stimulating in their life (maybe they're a rocket scientist that needs a mental break sometimes?). Sometimes people use media as their intellectual stimulation just like a lot of celebrities who send out a 'dumb' vibe are actually members of MENSA (whereas people with work that seems to take lots of intelligence are rarely MENSA members).
