I think we just have differing opinions on what Pete is championing when he lauds the greatness of American capitalism. When he proudly professes that he's a believer in the value of the capitalist system, I hear an economic philosophy that is only minutely and superficially different from that of Dick Cheney or Trump or McConnell or Biden.

If were to ask Pete a series of "regulate or don't regulate" questions, I think you'd find that he would be generally in favor of a level of regulation (or lack thereof) that would be difficult to distinguish from a believer of neoliberal economics. To say that anything I've just said is partly false is totally fine. To say that anything I just said is "100%" false is naive as hell.
