Bill Belichick choosing to let Butler walk and pay Stephon Gilmore looks like a great decision in hindsight. Last night Butler allowed 8 catches on 11 targets for 108 yds and 2 TDs to Cooper and Hurns. Gilmore allowed 2 catches on 6 targets for 12 yards, 2 PBUs to Davante Adams.

No offense, but if you honestly think butler is better than Rowe or Jones you straight up havent watched them play for the last couple years.

Rowe has his bad games, hes not very consistent, but his lows were as low as butler and his Highs were much higher (practically perfect coverage on Julio Jones in the SB, for instance)

Jones has consistently been one of the better slot CBs in the league over the last 2 years (well, year and a half I guess) as well.

Also, Butler got burned ALL THE TIME. He gave up at least one big play in basically every game. Even in his 2016 run where he played very well overall, he would always give up a huge play...typically correcting his mistakes for the rest of the game.
