It’s crazy and sad how little we know about the public figures we idolize. I too, used to love and admire Bill Cosby. Same for O.J. Simpson. They both appeared to be great role models throughout their careers. But what we see is only what they choose to show the public and sometimes the dark, underlying personalities show up far too late, if ever. That’s why I choose not to idolize any celebrity or public figure anymore. They are still simply people with their own faults, but just happen to be well-known. I still admire the way some use their fame and fortune to do good for the world, but I still remind myself that they are human and have a personal side that I will never see.
