I don’t know if I can agree with you on that one. Bismarck has one advantage over all those ships: Speed. She could dictate the engagement by using her superior speed to stay at her desired engagement range. KGV guns were to small to pose any real threat to the Bismarck, since her armor was designed around being able to withstand shells up to 381mm from a distance of > 20km (in reality probably closer to 15km). She could’ve easily outran the Nelson. While Nelson would have outgunned Bismarck, she was less armored and probably wouldn’t have taken sustained fire as well as Bismarck. With Richelieu you get the same points as with KGV. The American BBS in my mind would’ve had the best chance, but I’m not expert so there’s really no weight to my words. Overall, the Bismarck was designed as a commerce raider and if possible avoid engaging an enemy capital ships.
