Black man with gun pulled over no one killed.

1) Thanks for dismissing my views as a "hot take!" Thats very useful in an attempt at a constructive conversation! Of course it doesnt boil down to those two options lmao. It is a generalization. Not every good cop is going to hold others accountable. And not like every bad cop is going to go shoot people. There are so many options and I am just referencing larger trends and trying to help simplify the debate many of them face.

2) those sound like great alternatives! and you can offer all these hypothetical changes, but thats not how it is in practice, right now! Thats all I was commenting on and there is no way I can explain all the intricacies involved in making each decision.

3) But I can tell you that, at least from what I've experienced, that you are not "rewarded" for being a whistleblower. I think thats a great idea, shit, more accountability is great. But that is not how it is. Right now, I feel like its more of a "stay in your lane" mentality. Again, I agree with a lot of those ideas.

4) Everything is relative. It costs money to enact policies. Take seat belts for example. That costs money to regulate, But it is incredibly worth it for lives saved per dollar spent. I am asserting that body cams and the costs associated with maintaining them are an inefficient use of tax dollars, and can be used to save MORE lives while implementing many of the ideas you just said.

5) just because someone disagrees with a facet of your statement doesnt mean they dont agree with you overall. It's this attitude surrounding these discussions that polarize people so quickly and prevent compromise and understanding.
