Borderline personality disorder

Just to offer another perspective, I am diagnosed with severe bipolar type 1 and I have found random internet comments and books to be a far more valuable resource than the so called experts. Doctors insisted if I quit my mood stabilizers/antipsychotics I would go manic again (they were wrong). Therapists were either actively counterproductive or rehashed the same stuff I read online but for more time/money.

Bibliotherapy has shown to be as effective as talk therapy. The idea you need so called experts for mental health issues is an oft repeated and harmful myth in my opinion. The internet and books have such great resources these days, to put mental health techniques on some ivory tower pedestal guarded by experts is wrong. I actually have many more thoughts on this topic I will eventually share when the time is right.
