Boyfriend (38M) of 6 months provides a lot of detail when he talks; I (29F) don’t. He wants me to give more detail and info but it feels weird to me.

I tell stories a bit more like your bf, not quite to the lululemon level of detail lol but I've been told I can wind up a story pretty well. My husband is comparatively minimalist when discussing his day unless something particularly interesting happened. Sometimes I'll try to cut my story short not because I'm testing him but because sometimes I worry he might feel I'm too loquacious or hogging the conversation. But mostly we just accept how the other is by now. I find it endearing and humorous. I ask how his day was, he says alright, might mention one or two things, then shrug like yeah, that's uh...that's it.

Having said that:

That you are asking and presuming such a thing as the above makes me wonder - is this something he'd actually do? When you think on it, is that actually in his nature? I wouldn't suggest trying to alter your way of speaking, it's part of who you are and that's okay.
