I definitely am aware of Republican trickery. But an eye for an eye will make the world go blind. Why is anyone justified to play dirty? That is a dangerous frame of mind for anyone to personally get involved in. That is why it is against the law for someone to go and kill the alleged murderer of their family member. Using the opposite side to justify irrational and irresponsible behavior is a very bad idea.

I realize politicians are who they are, and its naive to think they will behave rationally and responsibly. The entire goal of a political party is to get its members elected/nominated/bills passed.

That being said, we don't know the Democratic strategy. You and I aren't a fly on the wall in the Democratic offices. All I'm saying is that there is enough at stake in terms of a conservative controlled Supreme Court that the Democrats have an alleged motive to prop up these allegations against Kavanaugh. It's in their best political strategic interest to do so. I dont know how you can deny that, but if you do then ok I guess.

There are news stories that suggest Ford's testimony in front of the Senate seems "believable" but as of yet cannot be corroborated. We will have to wait and see what the FBI finds. Until then, we aren't supposed to make any judgments based on the innocent until proven guilty structure of our justice system.

But an FBI investigation takes time. A final nomination has been pushed back pending the Senate's desire for an official investigation. All Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee supported an investigation unanimously. It took a retiring Republican Senator who doesnt like Trump to make his vote for Kavanaugh contingent on the investigation.

This is truly what the Democratic strategy is. And I'm certain they will fault the FBI for something if the information they uncover comes back inconclusive. Then they will try to find some way to throw another roadblock in the way. Trying to throw whatever they can find. Try to look for more women accusing Kavanaugh. Or try something else entirely.

Sure Republicans did it too. But this back and forth undermines the country and its principles. Doing it because the other side did it doesnt fix anything. Each side will "one up" each other little by little, slowly eroding away public service and integrity.

Politics wasnt this polarizing years ago and now look at it. It's been totally eroded away. This is the cost of justifying one's own shitty choices.
