As a brit, I can't comprehend this is Los Angeles. As I understand, this is replicated in every major city in the US. How the hell has it come to this?

This is most definitely not happening in every major city. This is LA, was just there.

The homeless population is INSANE there, in numbers and mental state. Have never seen such aggressive homeless people on the streets and in such large numbers.

There is zero police presence to reign them in. Was walking down Santa Monica with a stroller and had people on meth screaming about my titties at me. They need more police or any kind of authority to get the behavior under control. It’s not like anywhere else. There are massive numbers of them and they are really aggressive.

Never seen anything like it in DC, Chicago, NYC. Yes, there is a homelessness issue but not at this caliber. You can see 20 tents of people on meth screaming bloody murder wherever you look in LA.

The only nice parts have private security which is just so massively unequal. You can only afford to be safe in LA if you’re rich enough to pay for your own police.
