Bruce Springsteen just cancelled a concert in North Carolina because of its anti-LGBT law

Can anyone share some tips for how I can convince a famous author, Jim Butcher, to be gay friendly and show support similar to how Bruce Springsteen did in NC? Thank you!

I am a huge fan of the Dresden Files, a fantasy series by acclaimed author Jim Butcher. /r/dresdenfiles

Jim does a lot of reddit AMA's, so I'm hoping to get some support in getting Jim to acknowledge an issue on gay rights.

Here is my story:

Jim's books saved my younger brother's life. My little brother, who is gay, was depressed for a long while and happened to read some of Jim's books, got hooked, and started to engage more in life.

Then a very horrible thing happened.

Halfway through the series, my younger brother discovered that his favorite author was, well, not as gay friendly as my younger brother thought.

Without repeating the reasons why, here are some quick links to illustrate the issue.

My baby brother is now all depressed again. He doesn't know if it's the author or just his books or that it even matters, he just feels BETRAYED.

I would like to get Jim to do something similar to how Bruce Springsteen boycotted North Carolina (awesome!) or somehow show some support.

But I'm probably in the minority of Jim's fanbase, and definitely in the minority on /r/dresdenfiles.

FYI, my post there has been downvoted to heck, just for bringing up the issue. But I refuse to be ashamed of standing up for and trying to help my little brother.

Jim lives in Missouri, so I'm worried that it will be tough convincing him, and others have already tried with open letters, etc. https://twitter.com/longshotauthor?lang=en
