Came from work to see my girlfriend has updated our letter board

Hmm. You know, I’m not so sure that’s true. See, I’m thinking — Divorce has an established roadmap for divvying up a decade+ of combined life. How do couples divide their households when seriously-committed-but-not-married partnerships fall apart? I’m thinking that must be a special kind of nightmare, especially if a couple’s end got ugly. I also wonder if heartsick people coming out of uncertified partnerships get the same level of social support as their freshly separated peers? Or do family, friends, employers, etc tend to dismiss un-married partnerships as less meaningful and thus offer less sympathy and understanding should the relationship fail?
