Campus security is absolutely PATHETIC. Berkeley doesn't feel like a safe place to be, and there are obvious things that can be done to improve the situation.

The front doors to dorms

Sure. And all of that surveillance happens at the doors to the units. Guess where there's relatively little crime? In the unit courtyards! Surveillance clearly works.

anytime there is a wealth gradient there will be crime

Do you think homeless people contribute to this gradient?

CSI is a largely a fantasy.

So we shouldn't think about using tech to improve our situation? Got it.

The RSF robbery is kindof a joke [...] men have to be men

Sounds like victim-blaming to me. But even if it's not: why are stun guns banned from campus? What about concealed-carry permits?

The government should pay you for not protecting you?

The university. If there is an assault on campus, the campus is at fault for not maintaining security. It is, in part, the responsibility of a campus to maintain a safe environment for students.

spend years rotting

No, people don't "spend years rotting" for campus robberies. They rarely get caught in the first place.

Imprisioning homeless people

Evicting, not imprisoning.
