Can we send drones into space?

Even if you replaced the propellers with thruster rockets, you’d still be faced with the absurd cost of the technology required to get something that high to begin with.

The fuel and tech required to launch vertically would be millions of dollars at a minimum, and even then the drone would just fall back down after less than 10 minutes. You’d need a rocket that can go 1500mph or more.

If you wanted to launch into actual orbit then you’re looking at even more tech required, since unlike vertical launch where a 1500mph is enough, for orbit you need 17,000 mph. That also means since your orbiting you’ll lose contact with any sort of remote control device unless you interface with existing satellites, which is just impractical and would require military access or something like that.

It’s just not practical. Not even a little.
