There are also some people who would write a decimal like this:

1,000·00

...I was about to answer that I've heard some people were adamant about writing this way, because "you stupid people can't write what is a comma and a period!" Something I have heard firsthand in the past...

...only to find out through Wikipedia that it's an Interpunct and it use to be a way to write a decimal point. (Boy I kinda feel stupid now. Then again, maybe those folks were right for the wrong reasons.)

And I think I have an old calculator that actually displayed the thousand marker on the top as a kid. Thought it was to make room for the decimal on the button.
