I am using Bitwig for music production, I found it pretty neat, but it's closed source (however, there are "alternate" sources if you get what I mean, if you need directions for that PM me).

Age of Empires and Minecraft run perfectly well on Linux. I have played AOE2 and 3 on Proton/Wine, and Minecraft is supported natively so no need to use Wine. Usually, the only games you'll have problems running are the ones that require Easy Anti-Cheat or some other anticheat software. All games that use up to DirectX 11 should run just fine with little performance loss, thanks to DXVK (a library that translates DirectX calls to Vulkan calls). DirectX 12 games might still run into issues though, but that is bound to change sooner or later.
