A year is two semesters. I don't think the credit is transferable to any of the universities in my home country but even if it is, I don't get any credits for only one semester. And I know 5 weeks is very little time but my homesickness has only been getting worse and I started feeling homesick 2 months before even leaving. While yes it may fade overtime, I don't think it'll be any time soon maybe a year like you said but what about the time in between? Its going to be like this for months and I don't think I can handle this. It hasn't even peaked yet.

If this is an American University, they almost certainly have a counseling center where you can get treatment for your symptoms.

Not an american university but I'll look into the counselling services if I do end up staying.
