Why Carson Palmer is the NFL's #1 QB Right Now

Then again Gronk is literally the biggest mismatch in the league. And also you can't discount something the other guy said by saying "hurrrrrr its WR to WR" and then compare a TE to WRs.

It's a perfectly legitimate argument if you read PFF's writeup. Their justification is that Palmer should be ranked higher than Brady because he plays in a more "difficult" offense that calls for more deep passes. That's where their problem lies: the Cardinals deep passes are to their WRs, just like the Patriots deep passes are to their WRs. Why? Because WRs are much faster than TEs and can get behind the defense. That's why the comparison between a guy like Fitzgerald and Gronk doesn't make any sense. They have two totally different abilities and are used in completely different ways by their offenses, and defense cover them differently. It's also a terrible argument if you've ever watched a Patriots game. Gronk isn't sprinting 40 yards downfield. His big catches are the result of a huge amount of yards after the catch. Gronk is 3rd in the league for YAC with 326 yards.

Arizona's WRs have a combined 38 catches of 20+ yards. The Pats' WRs have caught 16 passes of 20+ yards. The Cardinals top 3 WRs are 6'3, 6'3, and 6'2. The Patriots top 3 WRs are 6'2, 5'10, 5'9, and their tallest WR (LaFell) missed the first 6 games of the season. This article is pretending that there's no difference in receiving corps and puts all the credit on Palmer. You're free to do that if you want, but it's a grossly inaccurate statement and doesn't help you if your goal is to know more about who's play well and why.

can we just let other teams be happy about stuff that's going on with out bringing up the pats? You all already get 67% of media attention, mostly earned, but do we need to always talk about the pats?

Sorry if you're harboring some issues unrelated to my comment, but this is an article that heavily discussion a Patriots player, Tom Brady. If this was an article about Palmer and Cam Newton, you might be right, but it's not. Brady is mentioned in the article 12 times to Palmer's 17. The article starts by talking about Brady--it doesn't even get to Palmer until the 6th paragraph. It's a shame you don't like people talking about the Patriots but I think it's unreasonable to ask for some kind of Patriots "safe space" in an article that's half about Brady.
