Christopher Nolan returns Kubrick sci-fi masterpiece '2001: A Space Odyssey' to its original glory

It is boring...I remember watching it as a kid who loved Sci-Fi and actually fast-forwarding through most of it. My thought at the time was "Ahh more 1970's psychadelic crap" which was something I associated with my parents and therefore woefully lame.

Now I'm a 40 year old Sculptor who has traveled the world and I love art movies and weirdness for the sake of weirdness and I still don't get this scene.

It's like Kubrick dropped acid with Andy Warhol a few times and decided it would make some watershed cinematic achievement and it just comes off as a circlejerk

These people in the thread that was to say it was brilliant or amazing are insane imho.
