CMV: it's not relevant if someone can't spell/pronounce your name correctly the first time they meet you, don't get so offended.

misspell my name when looking it up in the system, as I was spelling it out.

Happens to me all the time. I have a very common last name with an uncommon spelling. And people are so used to the other way that even when I spell it out, letter by letter, they still spell it wrong.

I got used to it many years ago. I'm very used to them getting it wrong and then saying "no, it's actually spelled this way" and they check, say it's fine, and I spell it again, they check again, say it's fine, and then I get frustrated and say "no, it's really spelled this way" and then finally after the fourth time they squint, see they made a mistake, and then type it correctly.

I wish I were joking or exaggerating here. And no, I won't post what my last name is.
