I think craigslist gets a bad rap and isn't really as riddled with ax murderers and other creepy types as everyone claims. Reddit, what are your craigslist horror stories?

One time I was very, very bored and decided to run a CL experiment. I'm a female and averagely cute. I posted an ad for my area saying I had never been kissed before and was looking to meet some guys and maybe get my first kiss (this last part was true). I was curious about the types of responses I would get. I kept it light, non-sexual and was honest and I asked them to tell me about a certain exhibit in the area so I knew they were real.

I got like 200 responses before I stopped checking the e-mail a few days later. I knew a solid dozen or more of the guys and they were INCREDIBLY creepy. I was blown away! And then lo, and behold, this one guy I knew e-mailed me. This guy was a total jerk to me the first time I met him, when I was really putting myself out to there to meet new people. He gave me a fake name and blew me off and I remembered him.

We exchanged pics and it had been two years and I had changed a lot and he didn't recognize me. I set up a date with him at a local museum and actually went. I was super friendly, flirty, etc, but at the beginning I dropped the fact that I knew who he was and how he had treated me so horribly. Then he had to spend the rest of the date being attracted to me, but feeling really shitty for what he had done. And then he tried to hit me up several times after and I turned him down.

It didn't feel really good, though. I just felt kind of sad for him because now he was going through a rough patch in his life and I didn't help. Kind of turned me off the idea of revenge.

So that's not really a horror story, but I did get some guy's address-- some creepy guy telling me he wanted to do anal with me dressed as a little girl at some house near a school. I drove by the house a few days later and saw this guy out in his yard with a couple of little kids. Really opened my eyes to the creeps that could be out there.
