Credit score myths. My experiences.

first off to avoid high utilization you can just pay off most of your card before the statement hits and leave 10% to show up on the bill. utilization also has no memory so your score will rebound after showing lower utilization.

almost all credit cards have high APR and the lowest you can get would be around 12% but this shouldn't matter since you should never be charging more than you can pay off. even at a low 12% you can still get yourself into trouble quickly.

in regards to the annual fee it's entirely dependent on the individual and what perks the card offers in exchange for the fee. if you travel a lot and have a travel card you can get a lot of benefit out of cards with annual fees if you get free checked bags, airline/travel credits, access to airport lounges with free food and booze. I know my parents have almost $1000 in annual fee between the AMEX plat and united presidential plus but for them the annual fees are worth it for all the perks they can take advantage of when traveling.

I'm also positive that all of the major credit card companies allow you to dispute charges on your account. annual fee isn't a factor here.
