curiosity question, what would it take

  • acknowledgement that they have bipolar or borderline or both. This is huge. Most won’t admit to a diagnosis and remain steadfast in that.

  • proof they are active in therapy and have a psychiatrist who is working on tandem with the psychologist.

  • proof they are taking medication.

  • share an emergency plan. Who should I go to if you’re in crisis? What are your wishes? How can I help?

  • sincerity. Do you genuinely love me? Write it down. Share that letter with family. Show commitment and pride. Give me a reason to hitch my wagon to this this crazy train. Why a written letter? So that family or friends can show you when you’re manic or in a depressed state that you meant it.
