CV1 Release date in Wearality Sky article - misinformation or insider-info?

I never said they lied intentionally. I'm calling it a lie due to the nature of it. They knew people in general are impatient, so they said that to make people feel better while waiting, which I understand as a business strategy. The original scheduled release was Q3 2014 due to their own official roadmap.

Somehow, accountability isn't very important to fans of Oculus. As long as they say CV1 will be the "best VR HMD at any price", then it's fine correct? Well, if it is out later than the competition (Vive, for now) by 6-12 months, than that's not that impressive. It's like Nvidia vs AMD situation where their top-tier card is usually best for a short period of time.

e.g. Vive CV1 - best VR HMD in Q4 2015 Rift CV1 - best VR HMD in Q3 2016 Vive CV2 - best VR HMD in Q4 2016 Rift CV2 - best VR HMD in Q3 2017 .....

But it really doesn't matter anymore, Oculus won't have an input solution for CV1 if they do release it at E3 2015, on the other hand, including input probably means Q3-Q4 2016 release for Rift CV1. Also the outside-in tracking problems (e.g. facing away from camera, etc) and tracking volume (improved in CV1 probably, but I doubt it will be at least 15x15ft), mean that solely the HMD being the best isn't sufficient (at least for me personally). I'm all for the best display, etc, but if Oculus only has a very slightly better HMD, why would I care about it given all else considered? In terms of content and compatibility, Valve will not be behind. Also VR technology is supposed to be a monitor (as said by Palmer), so Vive should be able to do everything the Rift can do and more, unless Oculus VR wants to take back their words about that.

I'm eagerly waiting for E3, Oculus may surprise us all. However, whatever they surprise us with (or disappoint us with), I know it is very unlikely to be better than what Valve can offer in Q4 2015 without significant delays, especially when they say Nimble technology won't be included in CV1.
