Ha, I found this over on r/Bitcoin and liked it, so I changed it slightly.

The Hodler is Stoic. Resilient. The Hodler says, "I will not be deceived in the short or mid-term by the sharks". The sharks always prey, and profit, on the emotional shortcomings of others, who're reactionary, even predictable, in their responses to stimuli. The Hodler defeat the sharks (professional traders) by not playing their game; he defeats the sharks by hodling, by his inaction. The hodlers strategy is governed purely by logic and reason, and emotion is left to the curb. He has reflected on, and accepted, the potential "fate" of his Bitcoin stash. Society in a sense "pays" him, handsomely I might add, because he is willing and able to stomach that risk. Where others will not go, the Hodler will go. The Hodler is able to "perform" where others are unable, either due to overt risk aversion or the perils of a consumption driven society. The Hodler forgoes the immediate "niceties" and dopamine-fueled pleasures that others bask in, instead to become a real, meaningful part of something much bigger than himself. The Hodler is a visionary; he sees the bigger picture. He expresses his conviction, character and personal values by hodling. The Hodler has imagined the "ship going down", and has accepted this possibility as very real. He probably goes about his day-to-day life as if that's already happened, or is assumed to. He's accepted reality; he is at peace. The Hodler supports the Ethereum market capitalization. He votes on the future of technology and personal freedom with his money (dirty fiat). He demonstrates or "hints" at the utility of that cause with his vote. Others observe this, indirectly, in the market cap. And it is that metric that provides incentive across the entire ecosystem. There are few people doing more to support Ethereum than the Hodler, even though it isn't obvious. The Hodler is honorable, even admirable. In a world where everyone comes and goes, he is a rock of conviction, boldness and technological optimism. Let us all take a moment to acknowledge the hodlers among us.
