Early Christians had a very philosophical way of thinking and some of the great Christian theologians of the time (Basil the Great, John Chrysostom, Maximos, etc) were extremely educated on sciences, philosophy, theology, etc.

Basil wrote “Address to Young Men on Greek Literature”, where he wrote to his students about how they could find Jesus in pagan literature. Justin Martyr, a very educated Christian philosopher, wrote about the “logos spermatikos”, or seed of reason, and how we can find Christ in any truth.

American evangelical Christianity and their perverted interpretation of our faith is a problem, not Christianity in its purest form.
