just communicating at the start tends to make things way smoother tbh. ever since i started asking “how big do you wanna pull?” i feel way less uncertain how things will go and i feel it applies to everyone else too. generally people say big or mid pulls, so that IS just what people expect btw.

so, if you’re only comfy with small pulls, say at the start “do you mind if i pull small? still getting the hang of tanking” and most people will be totally understanding. if not, you can just leave tbh

(on one hand i understand that some ppl will be like “your gear can 100% withstand bigger pulls” but on the other hand, it’s just easier and more enjoyable to understand how all your abilities come together in a less overwhelming fashion than having to dodge 5x as many aoes and rotating through way more defensives)
