More important seems to be eating stuff other than mustard or non food grade electrolytes. You could eat all your chow!? You 'could' technically lick the windows but what does that make you? The studies above are easy to read and wildland fire specific. There are many other sources of info to support. This info is really easy to find and it sucks to get daily tips from the 70s in 2020.

Here's food grade electrolytes and carbohydrate supplements for endurance athletics used in the studies.

In the Army stupid ideas like this got soldiers hurt and people get held responsible. Not so in wildland. Daily pro tip, don't play just the tip with idiots.
