Damage per bullet is not Damage per second. or; how everybody is missing a huge part of the autorifle picture. [Discussion]

Back before the auto rifle nerf, I went and did a small experiment on these rifles. I used Greg the Dreg as my damage indicator and the same character/armor with no perks to anything. I shot the crit spot and then body shot different times to ensure I was gettign consistent numbers. Then went into a cave and timed how long it took to empty magazines. I don't have any of the numbers now, and they're not real relevant any longer any how.

My Shadow Price, to my surprise, still came out on top with most damage per second. Surprisingly, one of the rare auto rifles (can't remember which now, I think I eventually got rid of it) exceeded the damage of my Dr. Nope.

I did not test Suros Regime at the time as I had just upgraded it. Suros would be more difficult to test anyway because it's perks affect the situation differently

Also, controlling your rifle comes into account as well. Dr Nope was the worst dmg per second but also was the most difficult to control (depending on your stability perk roll). I actually thought my Pulse rifles would be higher dmg/sec but it was actually the lowest (again this was back before the pulse rifle buff). That being said, part of the reason why I thought it would be higher was how I used pulse rifles at the time. I'm able to land all shots of a trigger pull on my targets crit spot with someone like the Nexus versus using my Auto Rifle. Even though Pulse Rifles used to suck overall, I found they had an edge in specific scenarios.

Just some of my thoughts. I understand my data is out dated at this point. But Shadow Price was (like 3 months ago) still better than any other legendary auto rifle as far as consistent damage per second. Not to mention it's pretty great for control.
