Demi and a Teen

Does it get any better.... Well, some things do, some things don't.

I'm 26. I can tell you that your insecurities, about who you are and what people think of you, really start to fade in the next few years to come. Especially after the age of 23 I learned to make some peace with myself. Also, keep in mind that your brain isn't finished growing until you're 25, so there are still some big steps to be made in the next few years.

For me it really didn't. I finally got my first kiss at the age of 24, but I always wanted it before I turned 15. And the 10 years in between were really hard.

I put a lot of pressure on myself. The birthdays in particular were absolutely horrible. 'I'm 16 and I haven't been kissed yet.' 'I'm 17 and I haven't been kissed yet. 'I'm 18...' 'I'm 19....'I'm 20 and I haven't been kissed yet...' 'I'm 21..' '22..'

I once read someone describe it as 'being the only child at a wedding'. You really want to join the conversations the grown-ups are having, but you don't really understand what it's about, and you're kinda bored, so you just feel misplaced.
