My dad faound the term demisexual

Maybe I don’t understand the true definition, but as someone who identifies as Demi, I don’t really broadcast that it’s my orientation. This is because people never seem to “get it.”

To me, the difference between myself and a person who is just romantic and is attracted to their partner is that I don’t experience attraction at all until I get to know someone.

I can’t use dating apps because swiping on people’s photos and random comments does not interest me romantically in the least. Yes I have certain physical attributes I find “attractive,” but I would never be interested in someone for physical attributes. Once I begin to get to know someone, if I really like them, I become incredibly attracted to them physically/very much want a sexual relationship. Otherwise, I have zero interest and it borders asexual.

I dunno. It’s confusing to me, but I know I’m “different” than many people I know in this respect.
