Desperate for full time work

I’m kind of changing fields.

I’m all for changing fields and redirecting a life path but in this environment you are competing against people who have experience in the field you are trying to get into. Competing against these individuals who have a proven track record is going to be difficult.

Offered two different positions with either terrible pay (under 32k)

So you’ve had job offers that offered health benefits. It’s not an issue of getting a job offer but it’s an issue of you not being offered a salary you feel meets your value. Did these low paying positions offer an opportunity to gain experience in the field you are trying to break in to? If yes, then the position paid 32k and provided you with experience you could leverage into finding a more lucrative postion in the future. Not to mention being able to network with other professionals in that field, which is typically the best way to get your foot in the door of other companies.
