DF Direct Weekly: is next-gen GPU pricing out of control?

I read it, and I don't fully agree or disagree with what is being said. Inflation is obviously a factor and some of the comments even in this thread are downright silly. Like Nvidia should have called this a 4060ti and launched it for $600.

But it is funny how the narrative has changed, I distinctly remember being on reddit a year ago and people talking up how $900 for a 3080 was a "good deal". But now that it's Nvidia and AMD cutting off the margins from retailers this isn't cool.

I would imagine Nvidia is taking higher margins but I don't agree with the general narrative that "suddenly" the gpu market has turned to shit. I think this is mostly a continuation of a trend we've seen for maybe 8 years.
