Why did you stop going to church, or stop practicing your religion?

When I was about 17, I felt I just couldn't fit religion into my very logical world. Nothing about the Christian religion made any sense and the more I learned in church (Baptist for my family or any of the other Christian denominations that I attended) seemed less and less logical. The bible stories, although more realistic than mythology stories, really just sounded like crazy, unintelligent rambling. Even if I accepted these were just metaphors, I couldn't get past the honest belief of an omnipotent being needing to create misery, sorrow, hunger and death so his personal creations could prove their love and loyalty with his amazing gift of freewill.

TL/DR: It just all sounds like bullshit to me.
