The difference between Year one Destiny and Year two Destiny

well it was an interesting read. I was HARDCORE pre-TDB, I had 3 level 30 characters and even 3 vex. My group carried Atheon checkpoints and could easily 1 shot it on 3 characters. I still ran the raid multiple times anyway just to help my other friends. I would have played upwards of 60 hours per week and my friendslist has 150+ people from my time in destiny.

when they announced the TDB price here in Australia I decided to quit. it was the price of about 3-4 preowned games here. I couldn't pay that much just on the principal, and a few of my friends stopped playing so I did too. when the "legendary edition" came out I decided to trade in my game and buy it again.

but it's not as fun. I used to know every gun and had most of them, or was trying to get whatever I was missing. Now it is a confusing mess, with Y1, Y2 and so on. The Nightfall used to (almost always) give you an exotic, and it was more fun, and WAY MORE DIFFICULT. like 10x more difficult, each strike required very specific strategies to be planned and executed. now we just faceroll through them, it is like it's not even the same game. I also don't enjoy the new raid as much as i did VoG, and it seems like the new light system has just opened a whole new can of RNG worms.

and lastly i used to enjoy just going to a planet and cruising around, collect materials, do world events and get ascendant materials. See what people are doing. In the game today i never even need to go to another planet. Ever. the materials seem like don't even matter any more (I'm not sure if that's because I still have a stockpile of them) but also when I am in the world eg. at Court of Oryx I very rarely even see any other players.

So that's my thoughts on the subject.
