[Discussion] How to do more interesting things and spend less time on the internet?

You can do pretty much anything if you follow these steps:

  1. Discover something you want to try 1.5. SET A GOAL.
  2. Plan
  3. Prepare
  4. Attempt
  5. Achieve.

Discover what you would like to do - try something new or go somewhere, improve. A skill. Research all about it and plan it out. Prepare for it realistically. Attempt it as many times as it takes to achieve.

I for example have done things such as: learn how to sculpt. Scuba dive on a WWII ship in Florida. Go to the top of Empire State Building. Pass my real estate license. Buy a nice yet affordable car (hey man! Every day I get in that car I say. Man. That was a good deal wasn't it? EVERY DAY.).

Oh I actually built my own charcuterie curing chamber out of a wine fridge and raspberry Pi, and bought a slicer and stuffed, so I can make charcuterie and sausages at home. So far I've made quite a few dry salami and some capicola and braesola at home. The capicola hangs in the chamber for about 3 months while it ages.

None of the shit I mentioned above ever really went anywhere. Well I still make charcuterie but I'm definitely not opening a business. I'm not a huge fan of diving any more, (honestly due to the community. Who would have known that people who like spending time under water tend to be a little antisocial?)

The point is to /r/GetMotivated and be who you want to be. I'm the one that wanted all those things and they all took many months of saving money and research, but I did achieve them all and that's awesome.

Still have that car :)
