This gets said a lot but clearly isn't true, and it's normally pundits claiming this while dats guys like one of the Nates will point out voter file data shows people are chaining their minds. Trump nearly won because probably 1/10 Hispanics who voted for Clinton voted for him this time and Biden won because he won college educated whites who have been voting republican forever. And despite all the claims Trump won in 2016 because of new rural voters it is largely just because a massive amount of whites without a college degree who voted for Obama twice, also voted for Trump.
