In Quebec, in a city called Bromont, they have ski resorts using their mountains which are part of the Appalachian Mountains. I live in the heart of Appalachia here in the States and we could totally build a few ski resorts. It only snows 26 days in the winter (across three months) but snow around here stays for days at a time, especially in the mountains. It snowed two or three days ago and there's still a few inches around my apartment (it's melted in some parts, though).

We'll have to transplant trees, though. It'll only be 500 or 1000 per mountain. We'd start with only one mountain at first to test it. We'll move them to our abandoned mine land to repopulate it. That'll conserve and rebuild the parts of our environment that need it and allow us to have a ski resort. It'll have little to no impact.
