You want a doctor's note? You got it!

At a gas station where I am currently working, two workers are off on maternity leave and have been for several months. Bare legal minimum is 3.5 months (last four weeks of pregnancy, according to the estimated birth date, plus first ten weeks after birth). It's not particularly hard to qualify for extended maternity leave (until the child is six months old).

On top of that, depending on where you live, you might get a gift from the town/municipality for having a kid. From 10% of average paycheck to a full average paycheck, with or without material stuff (diapers, baby food, strollers, etc). Also parental leave, which I don't understand and don't really feel like looking into, but it's basically 4-30 months of being able to be off-work and take care of your kid(s).
