Doctors and nurses of Reddit, have you ever witnessed a couple have a child that was obviously not the father's? If so, what happened?

So this is what happened to me. I raise a child for almost 3 years that was not mine. I even signed the birth certificate and gave the child my last name. She got pregnant because her mom pimped her out to the guy they where was staying with so she didn't have to pay rent. Which I didn't know about obviously. Her mother was a bad person which is why they got evicted from the previous place and ended up there.

So anyway she's pregnant we move in together go through the pregnancy have the baby just fine. A Little girl Then we move in with her mom because I didn't know anything about this yet. And this was the cheap way to go with built-in babysitter. Everything was fine for the first two years or so , then my girlfriend started having breakdowns and tried to kill herself. I think she knew the child want mine, we had always used condoms during sex. We finally split up I take the baby she does not argue. I go to get full custody and have to take a DNA test and the next thing I know the child support ppl want to know where the kid is because she is not mine. So I kind of kidnapped a child and raised her for a while. After the DNA test results. I contacted mom and said come get your kid. That was the hardest part for me. That was 18 years ago.

That's the very short and non detailed version of my story.
